Black Black Basics
Here at the bus stop, we’re working towards making our space more accessible for renters and users and a step towards that is our Black Black Basics Technical workshops, where Merritt Award winning Technician and Designer Matthew Downey will teach and train individuals in the basics of tech-ing in a black box space – happening 6 times between Oct 2015 and October 2016.
What’s it about?
With successful completion of any one of these workshops, any of our members can be trained to tech their own shows at the Bus Stop Theatre, and have the option to be put on our on-call list to tech other renters’ shows on an on-call basis.
If you’re a member company looking to lower your bill, in the future we’ll have lower rental fees for companies that can bring their own, Black Box Basics completed, tech into the space!
General public or non-members will be asked to pay $30 for this workshop, yet as Members you can attend for free! The first of the series will be happening 1 – 5pm on Sunday Oct 25 at the Bus Stop Theatre.
Starting in the new year and happening every two months, these workshops will offer new members, patrons and the general public an opportunity to learn how to get the most out of the technical capacity of black box spaces! To attend, register here!
SPACE IS LIMITED, and will be on a first-come first serve basis. Please register soon!
If you want to attend, yet price is an issue, please ensure to reply directly to this email and we’ll do our best to accommodate your needs!
