2b Theatre call for Emerging Artist-in-Residence

2b has hosted an Emerging Artist-in-Residence for the past eight seasons. Through this program, artists are invited to observe and participate in rehearsal processes, collaborate on outreach and producing projects, and are offered formal mentorship on their own creative projects. Click here for more information about the program’s history.

Residencies may focus on any aspect of theatre. We welcome applications from writers, directors, performers, designers, and production personnel/ technicians. Candidates will have completed specialized training in their art form (not necessarily in academic institutions) and have less than five years professional experience in theatre.

Commitment and remuneration depend on the candidate, the projects they choose to pursue with 2b, and available funding opportunities. In recent years, it has been a part time paid position. The position is flexible and is shaped by the interests and needs of the successful candidate. 2b will support the successful candidate in developing funding applications. 2b is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from artists of diverse backgrounds.

If you would like to apply for the program, please send an expression of interest to info@2btheatre.com with the subject line “Emerging Artist-in-Residence”. This expression of interest should explain why you would like to work with 2b, in what capacity (or capacities) you would like to be involved with our upcoming projects, and a bit of information about how you think 2b could support the work you are making. This can take any form you like (letter, video, audio recording, etc). You are also welcome to submit a resume and/or sample of past work, if you feel it would be useful to do so.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions about the program.
