Laura Thornton is a producer, director, stage manager, writer and occasionally an actor. She’d been kicking around the Halifax theatre scene for over a decade before founding Whale Song Theatre in 2016.
Whale Song Theatre is committed to producing high quality theatre that’s accessible to Nova Scotian artists at every stage of their career.
Whale Song Theatre believes in giving back to the community that supports the work we do with our collaborators, so we pick a local charity to raise awareness for during the run of our shows.
When not working with her company Laura can be found in the box office at Neptune Theatre, working as the Executive Director of Halifax Circus and working in casting for film and television projects. A passionate fan of theatre and its creators, Laura is delighted to be a co-op member of The Bus Stop – a venue that holds so many wonderful memories for her.
