Mayworks Kjipuktuk/Halifax is an annual cultural festival bringing workers and artists together in the fight for social justice.
Like other Mayworks festivals in cities across Canada, the Mayworks Halifax Festival serves as an extended celebration of International Workers’ Day, or May Day. The Kjipuktuk/Halifax edition of the festival has now become one of labour movement’s largest cultural events in the country.
Through multi-disciplinary arts programming Mayworks Kjipuktuk/Halifax provides a venue for artists to celebrate solidarity and explore themes of social, economic and environmental justice.
