Mayworks Halifax is an annual cultural festival bringing workers and artists together in the fight for social justice.
Like other Mayworks festivals in cities across Canada, the Mayworks Halifax Festival serves as an extended celebration of International Workers’ Day, or May Day. The Halifax edition of the festival has now become one of labour movement’s largest cultural events in the country.
Through multi-disciplinary arts programming Mayworks Halifax provides a venue for artists to celebrate solidarity and explore themes of social, economic and environmental justice.

The Mayworks Halifax Festival regularly partners with the Halifax-Dartmouth & District Labour Council, the Halifax Public Libraries, the Art and Activism Collective at NSCAD, the In My Own Voice Arts Association (iMOVe), DaPoPo Theatre and many more!
